More than 12, 000 volunteers of the City of Nis, members of non governmental organizations, representatives of local organs of government, public communal enterprises, educations institutions, Serbian Army, socially responsible companies, participated on June 9 in the activities of Great cleaning of Serbia. On more than 70 locations of five Nis municipalities 22,000 garbage bags were collected of various types, emphasized the coordinator of the activities together with the help of mechanization of public communal enterprises Mediana and Gorica from wild depo places were removed even 1,200 cubic meters of garbage.

Great cleaning of Nis started with early morning hours and media team of EKOpolis first visited Palilula Municipality. Boban Mikic, member of Municipal Council welcomed them in Dusana Popovica street. Palilula has great tradition of ecologic activism emphasized Mikic. The following location were cleaned: around Zeleznicki bridge (Gabrovacka river), Crvena Zvezda, Dusana Popovica, streets Gavrila Principa (OS Kralj Petar Prvi near Old Cemetery), Mokranjceva and Vagresova building, Zetska, inter building space ion Old railway colony, Starca Vujadina, Rasadnik, Sindical flats and part of Vase Carapica (residential part), Ivana Milutinovic to Medosevac (*Jadran- Porecani).
